11/20/11 Who's got Gigs? This Band's got Gigs...
We got four (count-em, 4!) gigs coming up! Three of them will be in the City, then one across the Bay. Come see us play the upstairs stage (!) of Rockit Room on December 8th, then a few weeks later we will bid adieu to Kimos on December 20th. Sadly, Kimos, one of our absolute favorite venues, is changing management, and we'll be playing one of the last shows with the current regime. We are effing DEVASTATED about this, we just love playing that venue.
But that's ok, because after the New Year we'll be coming back littered with Christmas goodies to play Club Six. Then we head across the Bay again to play Eli's Mile High Club in Oakland. Jason and his booking skills are heating up! Anyone need a manager? Nahhh, sorry, he's ours...

11/5/11: Who's this Tall, Bearded Redhead Hanging Out on Stage with Us?
Why, that's Charlie McConnell! He's the new member of Califia, and you can hear him singing all smooth on the live tracks from Oaktown in theMusic section...

10/27/11: Happy Halloween from El Rio!
What, you've never seen Kermit shredding a guitar before? Then you missed out guys! Great, great show. We had a decked out crowd playing with the All-Ladies band "Harriot" dressed as zombies. Then Califia took the stage dressed as Kermit and Animal, a bro-dude-guy, a scientist and a preacher (oh, the irony!). We debuted two new songs to San Francisco: Gypsy Blues #3 and the new-and-improved Gone, Gone! Boom, that's how we do, debuting new songs all over the place! Happy Halloween everybody!
-
10/15/11: We Invented Killing It for 9 Peeps...
Jason loves to compare us to Hobo Boxers. He says we need to climb the ranks in the musical world by playing any night, any place, every time...much like the homeless boxer must fight all takers. We're still trying to determine if this analogy makes sense. But, the Stork Club may have been that show for us. Historic venue, not necessarily the best turnout. No matter, we murdered it like a Pacquiao fist to the face. So no one heard us, it's all good, because we have new live tracks on our theMusic tab from the show! Click on the link to hear two previously unreleased songs! It's like you were actually there...

8/20/11 Ki-mos! Ki-mos! Ki-mos!
Gosh dang do we love playing Kimos! ALWAYS an excellent night. ALWAYS a great turnout. Thanks to everyone for coming out and rockin' with us. We debuted our raunchy new song "Driving Music" featuring Charlie, a guest singer who'll be popping in from time to time. Plus a few other seldom played songs made the playlist. The girl that wants to get a tattoo based on "Two Rabbits" was in the house, and we made enough loot to spend on 95 PBR's for the studio. Successful evening, thanks everyone!

8/15/11 Kimos is a-coming round!
It's time once again to roll (we always rock, gotta try something new) our favorite venue, the one and only Kimos on Polk St! We love it here, and we love Story of Slim, who'll be accompanying us. Kevin Miso from LA will also be debuting his new LP, which guarantees a fun night out. So get your behinds to Kimos on the 19th!

6/23/11 Well, WE survived the Rock-it Room, but I'm not sure the bouncer did...
First off, we rocked, so that was excellent. But the beauty of being a fledgling, yet kick-ass, California rock band is that upon occasion you headline shows that...well...don't make any semblance of sense. Like last night at the Rock-it Room! Let's just put aside that we had two Dungeons & Dragons death metal bands playing ahead of us (complete with the ultra-quiet, nerdy guitarist that becomes Lucifer's love child once on stage), the high(low)light of the evening was likely the scissor stabbing outside. Yep, it doesn't get much more confusing than a bunch of people frantically running around and sirens blaring when you're on stage...unless of course you're being told that the bouncer just got scissored. And then, of course, you think, "I thought that's when two chicks..."

6/15/11 Two More Show Dates Set...
Califia will be playing an encore presentation at the Rockit Room on July 22, then we'll be going to our personal favorite Kimo's on August 19th. We'll keep you posted on the bills in the coming weeks! BTDubs, if you want to see some live video we recorded of a few of our songs a couple months back, check out this link!
-
6/10/11 Jason is Going Solo to Show Off his Folky Side...
Don't miss Konik's solo set at Brainwash on July 17th. This is a real fun venue, should be a great time. Then get ready to see drop that acoustic and rock even harder at our summer shows! Look for updates!
-
6/7/11 Califia is finding Our Roots!
We'll be performing the Hotel Utah next month on July 19th. For you old, old, old school fans, you may remember Jason and Anthony playing an early acoustic version of Gone, Gone there during the open mic night about two years ago. Well we're coming back as a big boy band, and we can't wait!

5/19/11 These Shows are just getting More Fun
El Rio had to be our most fun performance yet! We debuted two new songs: "Stars over Mexico" and "I Know." Of course you can't download those anywhere yet, so y'all best get to our next show...the summer schedule is coming soon!
-
5/3/11 Califia is Returning to the Mission!
We'll be playing El Rio later this month on May 18th with our good friends Story of Slim (you may remember them from February at Kimo's). Come and check it out!

4/19/11 Thank You for the Support of the Tsunami Victims
Great turnout last night for our Tsunami Benefit Show at Elbo Room; we made a good chunk of money that we will be sending out to Artists for Asia right away. Thanks to One Way Station and Songs for Snakes for helping out!

4/4/11 The Bill for our Tsunami Benefit Show at Elbo Room on 4/18 is set
Hey everyone. First off, our hearts go out to the victims of the earthquake, subsequent tsunami, and resulting nuclear crisis that occurred in Japan. The band members wanted to do something to help, but we couldn't do it alone. Therefore we've decided to up-the-ante and donate ALL OF THE PROCEEDS to a foundation (to be determined in the next few days, look out for an update) to aid in the relief efforts. Luckily, the venue Elbo Room ALSO decided to donate their cut, and so did the other bands on the bill: One Way Station and Songs for Snakes. We love that all the other bands are down to help, so now we need all of our fans to come out and support the cause. Elbo Room, April 18, 8:00PM.

3/25/11 "Yeah Live!" Video is up on their Website
Howdy y'all, be sure to check out the Yeah Live! website to see our performance. It will be airing at various times on Comcast Channel 28/AT&T UVerse Channel 99 (check the site for listings), or you can just stream it here! We'll splice it up and have it on a new section for videos on our own website too, so look out for some good ol' fashion site expansion

Our song "More Than the Weather" was played on internet radio yesterday on the show Crosstown Groove streaming on FCCFreeRadio.com. Sweet.

3/3/11 That's Right, Califia is Front Page News.
A spotlight on Califia is the cover story for the Richmond Review, a newspaper representing the San Francisco neighborhood. Its pretty badass, we've never made the front page before, so we're excited! Of course, the content is approximately 39% correct (that's what happens when you let your stoner bassist give the interview), but screw it! Even totally incorrect press is still press! Check it out here!

2/27/11: Kimo's was Ridiculous!
Thanks to all who came out for our show at Kimo's! Story of Slim was unbelievable and Louden Swain kept all the ladies dancing until the wee hours...and then some, we're sure. Thanks to Kimo's for having us, and to the sound guy especially, he nails it every time. Looking forward to another show there in the near future, we'll keep ya posted!

You'll be able to check it out on TV (Comcast Channel 28/AT&T UVerse Channel 99) or the website link above. Falling Still will also be performing with us that night...

1/26/11 The Bill for Kimo's on February, 26 is Set!
Hey everyone, just to let you guys know we'll be playing a 3-band set for Kimo's on the 26th of February. Story of Slim is opening, followed by Califia, and then Louden Swain is closing it up. Come one, come all, it should be a fantastic show!

Everyone can hear the tracks on theMusic tab of this website, and once you decide that you love it, go ahead and click that link to the right of this page to download it at CDBaby. A special thanks to David Shine of ShineOn studios for the ridiculously good mixing and mastering!

1/21/11 We launched our website!
Between working in the studio, playing shows, and writing new music, we finally found some time to finish up our shiny new website. Califia wants to thank TS Target Sites for their amazing work and extremely helpful service. Hope y'all enjoy!
